Six months after I legally married my wife, I lost my wedding ring.  I was distraught and utterly disappointed with myself. How could I have been so careless with something so important? I looked everywhere yet couldn’t locate the ring that had only moments before been loosely on my ring finger. I returned home cold and timid. I decided that confessing to my wife about my misfortune was much wiser than waiting for her to notice the absence of the ring on my finger. My wife showed concern and understanding when I told her. She said to me a wedding ring is just a symbol. Love and trust go beyond physical symbols like rings.’ We’ve been married for thirty years now. My wife would later lose her ring a few months after I lost mine. I do agree. If you aren’t keen on respecting your partner, a mere ring won’t change your attitude.
